Defense Litigation:

Harrington, Ocko & Monk, LLP attorneys have been active for over a decade as leaders in Bar Associations, Chairs and lecturers for CLE programs to attorneys and industry groups and for published articles on defense of construction accident claims, developments in New York States Labor Law, insurance coverage and trial practice.  Glenn A. Monk has Chaired the Labor Law and Premises Liability Committee of the NYSBA Torts, Insurance and Compensation Law Section since 1996.  Partners in the firm have chaired statewide programs and been local chairs and lecturers on construction accident litigation CLE programs. Our attorneys have published articles, reviews and contributed to texts on the rapidly changing case law in labor law and insurance coverage and risk transfer strategies.

Claim Litigation:

Harrington, Ocko & Monk has successfully defended structural defect claims, design defect claims, property damage and fire loss claims.  The firm has significant experience in both prosecuting and defending construction delay litigation, wrongful termination, default, non-payment, lien law, trust fund, surety bond and other economic loss claims faced by owners and contractors.

OSHA Compliance and Litigation:

Our Construction Practice Group represents contractors contesting citations issued by OSHA and defending administrative law proceedings related to those citations.

Construction Agreements and Corporate Representation:

Our Construction Practice Group provides general corporate representation to owners-developers and contractors including land acquisition, drafting and negotiating construction management agreements, subcontractor agreements, and professional and design services agreements.

Construction Risk Management and Insurance:

Our insurance coverage attorneys work extensively on developing and implementing risk transfer strategies, as well as counsel clients on coverage issues for general liability, builders’ risk, wrap-up programs (both CCIP & OCIP).  Our coverage and liability counsel  coordinate work to enforce tenders through declaratory judgment and third-party enforcement claims.
